July Community Insider North Metro Denver

Summer is in full force in the North Metro Denver Area but we are still feeling the effects of COVID in our area. I know it may feel like this has put a damper on our summer plans… But there are still some local companies thinking outside the box to come up with great events for us to attend in our community! I hope you get a chance to check out a couple of these events I have highlighted in my July Community Insider North Metro Denver Area.

Twist & Shout Concerts

July Community Insider North Metro Denver

Thornton Arts & Culture Division presents its annual Twist & Shout outdoor summer concerts. These events also included Ward ice cream socials along with a new multicultural Acoustic Tuesdays concert series. All seating at this event is safely spaced 6 feet apart for your safety. You can pre-register for your spot and the music starts at 7 pm. They will also be live-streaming the performances for you to be able to view at home for the Tuesday acoustic events. Other safety measures for this event besides the 6 foot distancing include frequent hand washing and face mask on at times when you are not with your household group. For more information and lists of artists performing at this event click here.

First Full Moon Bike Ride 2020

Come check out this free event for a bike ride to see the beautiful full moon! The Buck Mood Ride is set for July 8th at 6:30 pm. Bicyclists are asked to meet at Emi Chikuma Splash Pad and Plaza in Benedict Park. For everyone’s health and safety, participants are asked to wear a face mask while waiting for the event to start, but once you start riding one is not required. Helmets with light are recommended. Bring your family or friends and join in on this fun event! Don’t worry if you aren’t able to make this date there is a full schedule of other dates this event is offered to view the schedule click here.

Movie In The Park

Since we aren’t able to have our normal cinema experiences, here’s an alternative. The St.Anthony North Health Campus is offering a free event for the whole family! On Friday, July 17th they will be airing Toy Story 4. Nothing is better than having the drive-in movie theater experience, so bring the kids and your lawn chairs, or blankets and come join the fun. There will be a concession stand and the movie will begin at dusk. For more information on this event or any questions click here!

Lumonics Mind Spa

Thorntons Arts & Culture center presents the Lumonics Mind Spa. This event started in June and goes through the end of September so you have plenty of opportunities to check out this local event. Light sculptures, video, and sound will envelop viewers in their gallery/meditation space. Visitors can meditate or engage in free drawings using their own supplies. Admission is free but they do have a maximum of 10 people allowed in the gallery at once.
